Commandos undergo Marine Rescue Training
In the year 2019, the Government of Tamil Nadu announced the establishment of a new rescue station at Marina to rescue people who are being drowned in the beach waves.The station was inaugurated by the honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 29.01.2020. 25 Firemen swimmers are being trained by various agencies in various water rescue methods and recently the team has been sent to Ramanathapuram to be trained on a 6 day Watermanship course. The 25 Commandos under the initiative of DGP (Fire and Rescue services) Dr. C. Sylendra Babu were given training in Scuba Diving, kayaking, wind sailing, disaster management, first aid and use of rubber boats, rescue tubes, stand up paddle.
