One Minute Drill Competition

For the first time in the history of Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services, “One Minute Drill Competition” was held among firefighters to expedite the turnout time to attend the firecall. The purpose of the competition was to keep firefighters mentally and physically ready to go to the fire spot at any moment.

The State level competition was held on 23.01.2021 among 5 Regions at State Training Centre, Chennai Tambaram. Initially the district level and Region level competitions were  held among 346 Fire and Rescue Stations across Tamil Nadu.

The Northern Region team finished first in 54 seconds and the Southern Region team finished second in 60 seconds. The Director of Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services Department, DGP Dr. C. Sylendra Babu, IPS presented them with a shield and certificates. 

Additional Director (Administration) Mr. Shahul Hameed, Joint Director Northern Region Mrs. Priya Ravichandran, Deputy Director North West Region Mrs. Meenakshi Vijayakumar, Deputy Director (Headquarters) Mr. SatyaNarayanan, Deputy Director Central Region Mr. Saravanakumar, Deputy Director Southern Region Mr. Vijayakumar were present at the event.
