Elderly woman rescued from 100 feet deep well
In a swift and heroic rescue, a 78-year-old woman, Mrs. Annapackiam of CSI Kovil Street, Sundavilai, Vepilankulam Padhi – I Village, Radhapuram Taluk was saved after accidentally falling into a 100-feet-deep well. The incident occurred around 7:00 AM on October 1, 2024.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the Valliyoor Fire and Rescue Service Station promptly dispatched a rescue team led by Station Officer Mr. Santhana Pichai. Demonstrating quick action and expertise, the crew arrived at the scene without delay.
Mr. Maria Edison, a brave crew member, volunteered to descend into the well using a safety rope. After a challenging effort, he successfully brought Mrs. Annapackiam to safety. The elderly woman was conscious and responsive but was immediately taken to a private hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.
Local residents commended the rescue team for their timely intervention and professionalism. The swift response of the Valliyoor Fire and Rescue team played a crucial role in ensuring the victim’s safety.
