Marathon for Fire Service Week

Every year 14th of April to 20th of April, Fire Safety Week is celebrated across the country. “Awareness in fire safety for Growth of National Infrastructure (AGNI)” is the theme for 2023 selected by the Government of India to create awareness among the public on Fire safety and fire prevention.

As a part of this celebration, 5 km “Marathon” was conducted on 15.04.2023 at Besant Nagar Elliots Beach near Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. About 200 fire department personnel along with fire volunteers took part in the marathon wearing t-shirts emblazoned with the slogan “Awareness in fire safety for Growth of National Infrastructure (AGNI)”. As a part of this fire service week, Fire mock drills, various awareness programmes, quiz competitions, workshops are being conducted at various occupancies including hospitals, government buildings, shopping malls, public places, schools, colleges and Apartments for the entire week across Tamilnadu.
