Safe Diwali Awareness Campaigns – 2023

Department of Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) personnel are conducting mock drills at key locations across the state for the past two weeks on how the public can celebrate safe Diwali.

The mockdrills are being held at major government and private schools, colleges, bus stands, market places, factories, and other public places across Tamil Nadu. 

The mock drills demonstrated how the fire crackers can be safely handled and first aid techniques in case of a fire accident due to fire crackers and how to burst crackers safely.

The equipments deployed by firefighters during rescue and fire-fighting operations were demonstrated during the events.

Diwali Fire safety Marathons also conducted at various places of Tamilnadu. As a part of safe Diwali campaign, 5 km Diwali fire safety awareness Marathon was conducted at Besant Nagar, Chennai on 05.11.2023. More than 250 persons participated in this event. Joint Director, Northern Region, Mrs. Priya Ravichandran flagged off the Marathon and distributed the prizes to the winners.
