Fire safety drill at Secretariat

The personnel of the Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services Department on 23.01.2023 conducted a fire safety mock drill at the 10-storey Namakkal Kavignar Maligai at Fort St. George, Chennai. The Director of Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services, DGP Mr. Abhash Kumar IPS said that the exercise was conducted to test the disaster preparedness at the Secretariat, to make the officers and staff conversant with the standard operating procedures and to create a general awareness on fire hazard. 

52 Fire Personnel, 6 Firefighting and Rescue Vehicles, 54 metre Bronto Skylift were engaged in the rescue operation. The first aid and emergency treatment were carried out to those injured in the fire accident. Over 150 Officers and Staffs from Secretariat participated in the drill. Firefighting and Emergency Rescue Equipments were displayed during Mock drill.
