North East Monsoon Prepardness Drill
The Officers of Northern Region of Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department, conducted Northeast Monsoon prepardness drill on 03.09.2020 at Paruthipattu Lake in Avadi, Tiruvallur District.
Demonstration included methods of rescuing victims from inundated waters using rope by sailor crawling, travion method and special equipments like rescue tube, surf board kayaking, jetski, etc. Firemen also demonstrated the improvised methods of rescue using plantain stems, bottles, empty LPG cylinders, etc. They also exhibited their skills in CPR and rescue if helicopters have to be used.
The Director of Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services Dr. C.Sylendra Babu, IPS appreciated and encouraged the firemen. The Joint Director, State Training Centre Mr. M. Shahul Hameed and The Joint Director, Northern Region Mrs. Priya Ravichandran were present in the event.
