Rescue work at Private Stone Quarry

One worker died and two others were injured after crushed stones caved in inside a private stone quarry functioning at Madhur village, near Thirumukkudal, in Kancheepuram district on 04.02.2021. Fire fighters from Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu Districts rushed to the spot and 2 injured workers and 8 others were rescued alive. The sniffer dog unit was pressed into service to search for the trapped victims. Emergency Rescue Tenders and fire Commandos from chennai were also called in for search operations.

Director, Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services Department DGP Dr. C. Sylendra Babu IPS visited the spot and inspected the search operations.
