State Sports and Duty Meet 2023
Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Department State Sports and Duty Meet were held from February 15th to 18th at Anna Sports Arena, Trichy.
About 200 sportspersons from 6 regions participated in various sports events which include Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics, Swimming and Departmental Events like, Squad Drill, Hose laying, Rope Climing, Tactical Madley Relay and Ladder Drill. The sports meet concluded on 18th February 2024 following the Cultural programmes.
Northern Region won the overall championship title, followed by Central Region and South Region.
Director of Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services DGP Abhash Kumar IPS presented the trophy to the winners of the various competitions. Later, during his speech, he appreciated efforts of Fire & Rescue department personnel who risked their lives during last year’s floods in southern districts and Chennai.
Mr. Karthikeyan IPS, IG of Police, Mr. Manohar IPS, DIG Of Police, Mrs.N.Kamini IPS, City Commissioner Of Police, Mr. P. Saravanakumar, Joint Director Western Region, Mr. N. Vijayakumar, Deputy Director Southern Region, Mr.S. Kalyana Kumar, Deputy Director Salem Region, Mr.K. Kumar, Deputy Director Central Region, district officers and other fire personnel were present on the occasion.
