Tamil Nadu Firefighters Shine at 3rd National Sports Competition

The Tamil Nadu Fire Service team displayed exceptional talent at the 3rd National Firefighters & Officers Sports Competition, held from February 28 to March 2 at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi.

The competition featured a range of events, including Athletics, Arm Wrestling, Wrestling, Badminton, and Departmental Sports. Tamil Nadu’s contingent of 35 personnel participated in 12 individual and team events under the incharge of Mr. Vadivel, District officer, Karur District, who served as the Nodal Officer.

Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, the Tamil Nadu Fire Service team secured an impressive tally of 6 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals, achieving 5th place at the national level.

Out of the 31 participating teams, the Army Ordnance Corps emerged victorious, claiming the first position. The Delhi Fire Service secured second place, while the Mumbai Fire Brigade finished third.

The event was jointly organized by the All India Fire Service Sports Control Board (AIFSSCB) and the Delhi Fire Service. The competition not only highlighted the physical prowess of firefighters but also fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among the nation’s fire service personnel.
